So as fashion month draws to a close with the final designers currently showcasing their latest looks in Paris, we are left fascinated by what we will be wearing in six months for the Spring Summer 17’ season. Although, as exciting as it is to see all the summer trends unfold, we must bear the next few months until we can whip out the shorts again!
Not to be out-done by the International Fashion weeks, Ireland itself had its own “Fashion Festival” earlier in September. The Dublin Fashion Festival in association with Galaxy ran from the 5th of September to the 11th of September and the week-long schedule of events was a huge success. The festival organised by We are Dublin Town is undoubtedly Ireland’s biggest fashion event and is a must for fashionista’s and shoppers alike! The aim of the festival is to put the fun and theatre back into shopping and socialising in the city- and that’s definitely what it did!
I was fortunate enough to be involved in the Dublin Fashion Festival this year and the festival really showcased all that Irish Fashion has to offer. From all the backstage antics to running around the city in the rain with boxes of galaxy bars, the festival was truly an amazing experience! Irish Fashion has really excelled in the past few years with more and more Irish designers making appearances on the international market as well as the High Street stores stocking the most in-trend pieces season after season. However the most noticeable development has been our very own Penneys. They have undergone a gradual transformation into being a store bursting with high-fashion inspired pieces.
All throughout the Dublin Fashion Festival, Penneys played a vital part in the numerous events providing countless pairs of shoes for every catwalk show and photoshoot. The versatile shoes fit in perfectly with the designer pieces in each show and complimented each look. Personally, after seeing all these shoes up close backstage and also on the runways, I couldn’t believe how fabulous they were! So much so that I have bought about four different pairs of shoes from Penney’s since!
Here are some of the shoes used at the DFF:
These flat black loafers are completely on-trend this season and are available in Penneys for only €13.
And just while we’re on the topic of the ever-popular Penneys, check out their new PrimarkXDisney range available in stores nationwide. Fashion and Travel Blogger Louise Cooney is just back after a few days of shooting the new collection in Disneyland Paris-What a life?! Louise is a fantastic blogger so you should definitely follow her on snapchat and Instagram for all her fashion tips and travel adventures! http://louisecooney.com/
That’s all from me for now, so pop in to Penneys in Market Cross Shopping Centre and start shopping the latest shoe trends! And don’t forget to take a photo showcasing your new shoes along with your outfit and submit it our Street Style monthly competition to win a voucher for €100 for any store in the centre!
Hope you have a great week!!
