Michael here, bringing you the second edition of my art, make-up, fashion and skincare blog.
This week I want to share with you, something that we all need more of, none of us seem to have it in this busy world and we are all trying to save it, and hopefully I can save you more of it… did you guess –Time!
Busy mums, professionals, gals on the go, anyone looking to save time:
Here are a few tips to freshen up your look during hectic busy days-
Use the cool morning air to your advantage, wash your face with cleanser- the new “moo goo” range has it all, from cleansers, scrubs and moisturisers, they also do all over body lotions with anti-inflammatory properties.
Another good range is Trilogy, their rosehip oil is fab for dry skin and it’s all natural. Their cleanser- ‘makeup be gone’ is really amazing. All can be found in Lloyds pharmacy in the Market Cross, the very helpful staff are ready and very attentive- tell them that I sent you. There may even be a sample if you ask nicely.
For those of you wanting to splash out on skin care, believe me, I wouldn’t stop you! Be kind, treat your skin- a good canvas makes great paintings. L’Occitane – Their new anti-aging serums are to die for! The award winning “Crème Devine” is available with an SPF. Also, now at a reduced price is their 28 day rejuvenation renewal skin program, perfect treat for your skin- Lush! I was in with the very knowledgeable staff today, I tried some little lovelies for my skin so I did, thank you girls, my skin feels super! I always love the scent when I walk in there.
Next, tone and moisturise- the “Bio derma” range again, Lloyds have you covered with both value and quantity, check out their range while you’re in there. When done, stand outside with your coffee and let the morning air do its job of tightening those pores. Not only will you feel awake, you are now ready to tackle your face, and the day ahead!
Makeup on the go– I would say about 6 key products is all you need:
If the eyes are a tad dull, I find a light peach colour under the eyes and the inner corners has a fantastic brightening effect and wakes up tired eyes- “you can’t hide your lying eyes” (the eagles) but you can hide your tired ones. There is a great concealer pallet by ‘Catrice’ in Penney’s , with this peachy colour to cover those dark circles- If you think it’s looking too orange, use a lighter concealer over the peach to completely rid you of any dullness. If you always remember to blend, it will always look natural. Not only is the peach in the pallet but also a green for redness and broken veins and three skin shades from light to dark. This product, and more are currently in Penney’s Market Cross! I use them in my kit on a regular basis. I also hear great things about the new contour range from P.S. (Penney’s special range) in (MC) Penney’s, it’s so good, it keeps selling out so I am trying to get my hands on some of these products for the live photoshoots coming up soon in Market-Cross.
Don’t go for full coverage when using a foundation during the day, if you use a light concealer and rid yourself of your problematic areas e.g. Rosacea, blemishes, dull skin, age spots and sun damage, all can be achieved quickly with a clean foundation brush and the concealer pallet from Penney’s. If needed you can apply a super light layer of foundation over before you set.
Set the concealer/foundation with a powder- yes you need powder to set any wet product you use, bar lippy. The powder should be the same as your skin tone or translucent. Just a light veil will do, pop on a bronzer preferably matt with no glitter in a “B” shape starting from forehead sweeping under the cheekbone, then down under the jawline, do this on both sides to bring natural shadows back to the skin after evening out the skin tone, then add blush if you like, light peach and light pinks for fair skin and peachy coral for darker skin tones. And voile! You’re done! In a very short time you will find this gets quicker and quicker to do and you will have your skin routine complete in a matter of 10 minutes.
Eyes- it’s early, keep it au natural, we don’t want to be scaring children and teachers that early in the morning, so apply a base of the light colour again from your Penney’s concealer pallet as a base- there are really no end for its uses! Light natural colours in brown, fawn and pink eyeshadows are best for day -time. A mixture of matt in the socket and shimmer on the lids- and that’s it. Mascara and you’re good to go. Throw on some tinted lip balm as your walking out the door = Makeup done in 15 mins.
